  • Painted a 420 square foot landscape mural of Titus Mountain and a 1,500 sq. ft. cloudscape on the ceiling of their home swimming pool room.


TEACHING EXPERIENCE 

District Fine Arts Coordinator Indian River Central School District, Philadelphia NY, 2018-Current
  • Guiding, leading, and focusing the energy of the K-12 art faculty within eight school buildings throughout the district towards achievement of a shared vision.
  • Effectively managing a $49,500 K-12 spending budget.  Ensuring the funds each school is allocated are spent responsibly and efficiently to provide the absolute finest programming and materials for our students.
  • Serving as a liaison between department members and the Art Booster Club to facilitate appropriate fundraising and spending.
  • Fostering and bolstering relationships with District Office, Building Principals, Secretaries, Buildings and Grounds, Custodians, and Community Stakeholders to maintain and enhance the admiration of the art program. 
  • Demonstrating respect and listening to the ideas of all individuals within the Art department. In a timely manner, fielding questions and concerns with immediate and long-term solutions.
  • Coordinating and leading a district-wide art installation for the International Day of Peace in September.  Involving, students, administration, faculty, staff, and custodians, within six school buildings, as part of a worldwide celebration.
  • Actively advocating for the arts by contacting Channel 7 News, writing articles to local papers, utilizing the school newsletter, and social media. 
  • Planning and facilitating effective and goal-oriented department meetings. Including providing professional development on the integration and implementation, of new NYS Visual Arts Standards.
  • Ensuring appropriate planning and communication to provide students positive opportunities to celebrate their academic achievements. Including, in district displays, Arts Celebration, the Salmon Run Mall Show, and the Tri-County Art Show.


Middle School Art Teacher Indian River Central School District, Philadelphia NY, 2015-Current
  • Working with the Middle School team of administration, staff, and faculty to ensure a rigorous curriculum that appropriately prepares students for High School art experiences.
  • Planning and implementing curriculum for 6-8thgrade aligned with NYS Visual Art Standards. 
  • Art Club Advisor for approximately 40 students.  Monthly planning and execution of supplementary projects for highly interested artists at after-school meetings. 
  • Maintaining a teacher webpage on the district website with class goals, routines, expectations, and policies available for both students and parents.
  • Working with Buildings and Grounds and the Technology Department to modernize and ensure the most tech-integrated and physically suitable classroom.

  • Leadership role in managing a team of teachers and technology staff. Working as liaison between faculty and the District Superintendent to ensure all stakeholders were able to acquire and utilize technology.
